Some sand and bluejay deveotees wrote from Colorado, August 2004:

Hi! We would like to submit our ideas about sand and bluejays.

SAND:
Christine says: Every grain of sand deserves a parent, as they are very
hardworking. Not only do people step on them, but they have to be
sandcastles too!

Raphaela says: Without sand there would be no sunbathing, which would result
in the end of the world as we know it.

BLUEJAYS:
Christine says: when bluejays fly by my window, my heart is filled with joy
and laughter.

Raphaela says: Hardly anything in nature is blue; even bluberries are
purple. which makes bluejays that much more special.

Gemma writes:
Thank you so much! I have been searching for good guide lines on how to draw
a bow, and I came across your site just this afternoon. Your step by step
guide is great, thank you!
Have a nice weekend,

Joyradish replies:
Dear Gemma,
You are welcome, and thank you so much for your wonderful letter!
I have noticed that if you stop at step 3 of the bow, and then draw a big round body with pointy ears, and add bird claws at the bottom. . . your bow becomes an owl!
love,
joy

FRANCES-RELATED FAN MAIL - A reader from Long Beach California writes:

"Must be the name Frances. Mine humiliated me to pieces one time by walking through the crowd after a chicken dinner in the church basement. She was taking all the chicken bones off their plates. She wanted to dry them to have the bones so her students could make a human skeleton.

SHE WAS GRABBING THEM AS THEY WERE STILL EATING!!! And trying to stop people from breaking them apart.

I was about 8th grade. Wanted to hide under the tables. She put them in paper napkins, sent someone back to the kitchen several times for more napkins and paper bags to put them in. Not at all subtle.

Have to say it was pretty cool when I saw the finished project."
